Biohotel Pointner - a vision turns 50 - congratulations
A visionary and forward thinker was able to welcome business partners, suppliers, politics and business to a special celebration as part of the company's 50th anniversary.
Florian Pointner opened the bed and breakfast Florian in 1973. Over the years, it evolved into today's Bio- und Seminarhotel Pointner. As a pioneer for environmental and nature protection, the hotel received the Austrian Ecolabel 25 years ago and in 2003 was the first hotel in Austria to receive the European Ecolabel. In a video message by Federal Ministry Leonore Gewessler, the achievements in the field of environmental protection were acknowledged and the company was thanked for its work. City priest Michael Struzynski blessed the Pointner family's property. It was a special honour to receive a certificate for 50 years of entrepreneurship from the hands of Peter Seiwald, member of the provincial parliament. Congratulations also came from the municipality: Mayor Stefan Jöchl and Deputy Mayor Monika Hager-Wild joined in with congratulations and greetings. Kitzbühel Tourism was represented by Managing Director Dr. Viktoria Veider-Walser and Board Member Andreas Dagn.
Pointner family
As nutrition plays an important role and the hotel has been preparing vegetarian wholefood and natural cuisine for decades, the representatives of the Grüne Haube were also invited to the festive stage. The chairwoman of Bio Austria Tirol, Christina Ritter, was also welcomed. At Hotel Pointner, 100% organic products are used out of conviction, partly from the hotel's own farm. There are only vegetarian dishes, freshly cooked and without the use of flavour enhancers and ready-made products. The comprehensive concept for waste avoidance and separation contributes to the fact that the amount of residual waste per overnight stay is far below average.
100% electricity with an Ecolabel; 100% heat from renewable sources and the use of products with an Austrian Ecolabel or European Ecolabel are a matter of course. Since 2017, guests at Hotel Pointner have been staying climate-neutrally. As a member of the Climate Neutrality Alliance 2025, the CO2 emissions are compensated.

In the course of the evening, the guests were also able to get an idea of the coverage on ORF. From the archives, some contributions were shown, among others from Tirol heute, which show the hotel in its early years.
The Pointner family would like to thank all guests and is looking forward to the next 50 years!
