The Architekturzentrum Wien in the MuseumsQuartier is the Austrian Museum of Architecture. It shows, discusses and explores how architecture and urban development shape the daily lives of all people. The broad program of the Az W sees itself as a bridge between the professional world and everyday experts. On an area of 2000 m2, the Az W presents international thematic exhibitions, which provides insights into the most extensive and comprehensive collection on Austrian architecture of the 20th and 21st centuries and a total of over 500 events a year. Furthermore, a public architecture library and important online tools such as the architects' encyclopaedia and the building database "Architektur Austria Gegenwart".
All focal points and projects of the Az W are characterised by a close interweaving of research, presentation and education. Exhibitions, publications, guided tours, excursions, lectures, workshops and tailor-made programmes for children are closely intertwined. Analogue and digital formats complement and reinforce each other. What can architecture do? This question concerns us all.
