Hermann Maier: Meine Heimat – Die Zillertaler Alpen

The “Zillertal” region is one of the most important tourist areas in Austria. However, it is much more than just a meeting point for snow and mountain enthusiasts. The High Alps Nature Park “Zillertaler Alps”, which covers an area of 422 km2, is home to impressive glaciers, colourful mountain meadows and mighty peaks as well as an impressive variety of flora and fauna. For scientific teams from all over the world, this region has been a hotspot for exciting research projects for decades. Ski icon and crowd favourite Hermann Maier explores the most exciting and beautiful parts of this enchanting valley on his journey of discovery, meeting scientists and mountaineering legend Peter Habeler along the way.

The documentary is a co-production of Interspot Film and the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF), funded by the Austrian Television Fund, Cine Tirol and VAM, in association with the Tourismusverband Tux-Finkenberg and the Tourismusverband Mayrhofen.

Korridore des Lebens - Europas grenzenlose Natur

Wild animals have always been on the move, even though their countless migration routes over land, in water and in the air do not appear on any road map. Wolves and bears, beavers and otters, red deer, amphibians, cranes and salmon need to travel, sometimes over hundreds, even thousands of kilometers, from their winter quarters to their breeding areas, from summer to winter grazing grounds, from occupied or degraded habitats to fresh ones, ignoring national borders. As animals migrate, they refresh the gene pools of their populations and preserve Europe’s diversity.

To make this documentary, Interspot’s team filmed for two years in nine countries across Central Europe.

Corridors of Life – Wildlife Wants no Borders, directed by Austria’s Franz Hafner, has been co-produced by Interspot Film, ORF, Doclights, Arte GEIE and CT and sponsored by Fernsehfonds Austria, the Federal State of Lower Austria and VAM.

Naturerbe Österreichs - Die Nationalparks

To mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the ‘Heiligenblut Agreement’, in which the provincial governors of Carinthia, Salzburg and Tyrol agreed to establish the first Austrian national park, director Heinz Leger dedicates this Universum two-part film to the beginnings of these parks in Austria (Part 1) and their challenges for the future (Part 2). Today there are six national parks in Austria - Hohe Tauern, Donau-Auen, Gesäuse, Kalkalpen, Neusiedler See - Seewinkel, Thayatal.

Universum Saalbach-Hinterglemm - Wo sich Natur und Mensch begegnen

To mark the opening of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2025, the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) presents a brand new UNIVERSUM documentary about the Saalbach-Hinterglemm region, which hosts this year's competition. The documentary takes the viewers on a journey of discovery, seeking out the animals, plants and patches of wilderness that exist in this popular winter tourist destination. "Saalbach-Hinterglemm – Where Nature Comes Out On Top" is an exploration of a world subjected to constant transformation as a result of a changing climate and human activity. It is a world in which wildlife has to adapt in order to survive and in which people have an important role to play in preserving the complex, often invisible systems that are the very foundation of life.

The documentary is a co-production of Interspot Film and the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF), funded by the Austrian Television Fund, VAM and Land Salzburg in association with the Tourismusverband Saalbach Hinterglemm.
