The Leopold Museum houses one of the most eminent collections on Austrian art of early Modernism, with over 8.300 works, from Biedermeier and Historicism
to Austrian Expressionism. The museum’s highlight is the Vienna 1900 exhibition, which showcases the world’s largest collection of works by the Austrian Expressionist Egon Schiele, masterpieces by Gustav Klimt, Richard Gerstl, Koloman Moser and the internationally most extensive permanent presentation on Oskar Kokoschka. In addition, the Leopold Museum shows unique items from the Wiener Werkstätte from Josef Hoffmann to Koloman Moser and exciting special exhibitions on classical modernism and contemporary art.
