Kino im Kesselhaus
Dr.-Karl-Dorrek-Straße 303500 Krems
Lower Austria, Austria
The Kino im Kesselhaus is the only arthouse cinema in Krems and the surrounding area and has been an important cultural place for encounters and lively discussions of film culture since it was founded in 2005. The architectural and eponymous distinguishing feature of the cinema, which is equipped with the latest cinema technology, is the high chimney of the boiler house of the former Austria Tabakwerke from the 1920s (today Campus Krems). The program from Wednesday to Sunday features selected works from current international and domestic filmmaking. And in the hot summer weeks, the cinema moves outside: in a unique ambience surrounded by vineyards and modern campus architecture, the open-air cinema at the Kesselhaus shows a fine selection of film highlights of the year.
